Born and raised in Chandigarh, a city of immense architectural relevance, I am a Bengaluru-based author, architectural journalist, curator, editor, and educator who writes and communicates on the global AEC industry. After completing my bachelor’s in architecture from Chandigarh College of Architecture (India) in 2005, I obtained a diploma in freelance journalism from Stonebridge Associated Colleges, UK.

The initial years of my career were spent as part of the core teams at India’s leading architectural publications, namely Architecture+Design (A+D) and Indian Architect & Builder (IAB). After moving to Bengaluru in 2009, I started working independently and collaborating globally with multiple architectural and design media houses, firms, educational institutions, and organisations in India, the UK, the US, Spain, Italy, Canada, Singapore, and Indonesia. I have authored two books- Architectural Inheritance and Evolution in India (2023) and Architectural Voices of India (2017). 

I am particularly interested in advocating and providing training in architectural and design writing, and have conducted masterclasses and workshops on several academic and professional platforms since 2016. Since Aug 2020, I got involved with conceptualising, curating, mentoring and conducting a certified six-week digital course on architectural design writing that over the next 2.5 years witnessed ten successful editions of 450+ architectural students, professionals, including practising architects, designers, academics, non-architects from 17 countries, including India, Australia, South Africa, Togo, the UK, the UAE, Pakistan, the US, Palestine, Italy, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Finland, Romania, Sri Lanka and Singapore. I continue to conduct these training initiatives on global academic and professional platforms, both online and offline. 

In my various pursuits of promoting architectural writing in the country, I have worked as a curator and guest editor for the Journal of the Indian Institute of Architects, spearheading and conceptualising the first magazine issue in India dedicated to architectural journalism. I have also served as the curator and guest editor for an issue on Writing and Literature for Architecture Asia, the official journal of ARCASIA, a global organisation representing architectural bodies across 24 Asian countries. 

I have worked as a curator for ESSAYS IN ARCHITECTURE – a national-level essay writing competition, and for ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN & MORE (ADM) SUMMIT 2021 –  A virtual global summit on architecture and design.   I have also been the convenor for a conference on the ‘Need and Future of Journalism in Architecture‘. My work towards promoting architecture in the country includes my roles as media advisor, content writer, and emcee for the Young Architects Festival (the annual national festival of the Indian Institute of Architects) for 2013-14 and 2011, in Kerala and Chandigarh, respectively. I have also led COASocial Dialogues on the COASocial Forum, an initiative by the Council of Architecture of India.

My prior work experience includes my stint as the Bangalore correspondent for the Indian edition of UK based magazine Livingetc; Indian correspondent/contributing editor for Karachi-based architectural magazines, Archi Times and Architecture+Interiors; contributing editor for INSITE (The in-house magazine of IIID); features editor for construction-based magazine NBM & CW; features editor for architecture magazine MGS Architecture; architecture and design content partner for Saint-Gobain India Limited (world’s leading manufacturer of glass) and Glazette, India’s leading glass portal; features editor for a web portal TABURN, focussing essentially on the AEC industry;  contributing editor for All About Architects, an architectural portal; editor of the Indian quarterly newsletter of the US-based waterproofing company Penetron; editor of the Sonear Industries Ltd Newsletter, one of the largest and leading manufacturers of decorative plywood and laminates in India,  contributing writer for STIRworld, an architectural portal, and in-house writer for VBT Consortium, one of Bengaluru’s oldest architectural and design practice.

Starting June 2025, I have also assumed the role of the Founding President of the first-ever council of women architects in Karnataka: THE WICCI Karnataka Architecture Council.  I hope to steer the platform towards advancing the profession through innovation, advocacy, and collaboration.

Through my writing and curation, I aim to cover diverse topics in architecture and design and present work that makes a difference and deserves to be noticed. My hobbies include reading, travelling, photography, graphic design, exploring new places, and interacting with people. I am very passionate about music, dance, sports, and literary activities. I am a National Talent Scholarship holder in Indian classical (vocal) music instituted by the Government of India.
